The Perfect Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign

This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense enthusiasm across the community. Starting with the one-by-one unveiling of newcomers before the title's release, to trainers developing firm opinions on the entire roster of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.

With numerous of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that emphasize their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

Aries – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram much more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Much like a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its standard and Super Form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their companion or a firm belief – will defend their side to the end. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several past Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Taurus energy.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Look at this total royalty. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of every party, providing an endless fountain of gossip to those who wants to listen. Much like an captivating, sociable Twins, it's very easy to envision Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their stories. Medicham’s official description also states its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems quite like a people-smart Twins.

Cancer – Mega Manectric

Cancer is widely considered as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate sign known for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely control,” which seems a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to create a storm cloud over its very self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.

Leo – Super Starmie

Well, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the star whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Players couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Leo brings to the table. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you don’t have a 401(k), to its inverted visage that’s just like the symbol a Virgo sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive being, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their pulse. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to keep the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Super Audino's skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just make them stress even more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Super Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a toy, it became sentient through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpion adores karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius myself, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The showiest and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can think of.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always think they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure

Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category matches seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall daunting aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's description says it “draws in negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
