The artist has given the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the MVT, which works to preserve the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.

He was given the prize on 16 October as his new release the album was named the top album of the last 12 months.

He has opted to give the cash to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function grassroots venues had in his initial steps.

"I personally wouldn't be doing my current career if it wasn't for all the gigs I did around the area, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," stated Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are struggling."

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these venues have shut down – roughly 16% of the entire UK sector.

In the last year, well-known musicians such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits local stages.

He also joined in, generating more than £100,000 on his live tour to assist numerous small stages across Britain.

The money helped locations that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges stemming from floods, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, court cases and noise complaints.

Additional spaces were granted financial assistance in upgrading facilities and gear that positively impacted musicians and concertgoers.

"The notion that funds from performances in large arenas helps the independent spots, where it all starts for performers like me, is just sensible," the star has stated.

He is among several artists to donate his award winnings to worthy causes.

Back when Pulp earned the trophy in the mid-90s for their release the album, frontman Jarvis Cocker announced that the act would contribute their cash to the non-profit the charity.

In 2002, musician the artist divided her award across multiple good causes, including the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.

"Additionally, I donated a thousand pounds to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they needed new equipment," she told the media.

Previously, the band donated their winnings to the local youth club that nurtured their band, as well as other independent music bodies.

And winners that year M People donated their award to a MS organization after a close contact was identified with the disease.

"Receiving the award was ample," said vocalist the singer. "The prize was the bonus but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our success impacted another person's life."

Recently, the Music Venues Trust announced it had rescued a couple of grassroots venues in that region, by transferring them to public stewardship.

The Joiners in that area and the other in the city were bought under the public acquisition program, which is supported by the arts council and supporters who buy "ownership units" in the venues.
