🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Introductory Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Song This latest animated series, the most recent animated adventure from Critical Role, revealed an exciting introductory sequence. It features the beloved group of outcasts, outcasts, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at several agonizing personal histories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, the character Fjord. Overall, the intro looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was missing in the music selection. This sequence uses "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by artist Colm McGuinness. It's a track from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one released by the production company's music division their music brand. It's a wonderful nostalgic option, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will love its presence. Personally, The Mighty Nein's opening doesn't quite capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the second campaign's actual-play adventure. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter Jason Charles Miller, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year. Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but this was such an earworm that I still saved it on my phone. It's a song that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun. The show's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but based on my understanding of the group, I feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched. Naturally, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have some surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening seems to be among these. The Mighty Nein will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are available on Spotify and the video site.
