The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Dies in a California Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio he co-founded.

The renowned industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and all those touched by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
