Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
