Slot Maintains He Feels Secure and Retains Liverpool's Support Following PSV Humiliation

Arne Slot admitted that it's understandable for questions to be asked about his future after a further convincing defeat against the Dutch champions.

The Reds endured their 9th loss in 12 matches, marking the club's poorest run after being demoted in 1953-54.

They were outplayed by the Dutch league title holders on a tough night at their home ground.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I've received plenty of support from above,” the coach commented.

“It would be great to turn it around and get a victory obviously but when you're working as a coach and struggling then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He added, “I'm comfortable with my position. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a difficult position but it is about time that we turned it around.”

Conversations with Club Management

When asked to provide details on his conversations with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They assist to the team and to me and we discuss these matters but they don’t call me all the time each day to say they trust me.”

He added, “In the normal discussions I sense the confidence. But I haven’t spoken to them since this game yet so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Problems and Player Reaction

The manager highlighted known weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League defeat, specifically poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I'm telling that to all,” Jones said.

“It is not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to reflect. I’m past feeling anger inside. I've reached the stage now where I simply lack the words.”

He continued, “It's difficult because I play for the club I love. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club since I was young.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Reds side enduring a spell of this nature with outcomes so bad.”

He concluded, “However we still have that badge on our chest. And until it is removed, we’re always going to compete.”

“Our aim is to help the side return to where it needs to be, prove once more what this club is about and why people call it the top club in the planet.”

“However currently, things are bad and it needs to change.”
