Netflix announced Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the original manga and animated series.

Escola will work alongside several other recently announced actors who will portray the group to reality, such as head the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of the fictional land.

Although the role is a important part of the group, the persona will be introduced in One Piece season 3.
