I will dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
