🔗 Share this article Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care. The Serious Allegations Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021. One deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Police Inquiry These allegations come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors said the 45 charges comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempted penetrative assault. Police are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
