🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Relaxed Playlist Sparks Heated Debates Over AI Players, XP Rewards, and Queue Times Recently, Battlefield Studios launched a fresh game mode titled Casual Breakthrough. In essence, this option resembles the standard Breakthrough format but includes a few key adjustments: Every squad has just 8 human participants, with the remaining filled by AI-controlled opponents. Activities done by human gamers award full XP, while bot actions offer reduced XP. Just a pair of locations can be played: Cairo Siege and Empire State map. Features like Dogtags, accolades, and career stat updates are disabled. So essentially, this mode lives up to its name: it's a laid-back version of Breakthrough. At face value, one could assume there's nothing wrong, since it gives additional choices for players looking for alternative methods to enjoy the game. But, gaming history have taught us anything, it's that you can't please everyone. In other words, a lot of BF6 players are upset. Player Reactions: Anger to Praise "Gamers prefer human opponents. Don't repeat the errors of your rivals," reads one reply to the mode reveal. "Truly disappointing concept," comments a different user. Meanwhile, in community forums, a player notes, "It's unclear where we are going with this title," and another details all the issues they consider to be broken in Battlefield 6: "Fix bugs, fix drone glitch, fix IVF rockets, adjust aiming after sprinting, fix awful hit registration. We don't need this AI-heavy playlist." However, amid the criticism, there are players explaining how much they're liking the recent addition. "It's enjoyable to warm up, real players keep it from being a total farmfest but it's quite laid-back," reads one Reddit comment. "This subreddit doesn't understand that there are gamers who have lives and can't play this title all the time. Let them strike a balance," states a different comment. A response on Twitter explains that as they're "a parent gamer with busy schedules, this is great for me," and someone else praises the mode for "not being overcompetitive." Constructive Concerns and Community Feedback All that said, there are constructive reasons to complain about Casual Breakthrough. Some users have highlighted that it will make wait times even longer for other modes due to the sheer number of options currently available. Similarly, some areas often face AI-filled matches in the existing playlists. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode won't start without a required amount of real players, despite it primarily centers on fighting AI opponents. Finally, a major grievances is that Battlefield Portal was promised to offer full XP, including AI matches, but that was removed when they tried to eliminate XP farming from the system. Thus this new playlist seems like the community compromising in the middle, as per forum feedback. Another describes this addition as the developers "making a mistake so hard, I had so much fun in the initial release, what prompted them to change it?" Looking Ahead: Will Changes Be Made? If Battlefield Studios has proven anything so far with the latest installment, it's that they're listening and responding to player input. Tasks that were overly hard got fixed rapidly, just like the required Redsec challenges. Chances are that, if their data indicates this new playlist isn't performing to their expectations, they won't be shy to change it again.
